we caught a movie last night.
perth: the geylang massacre.



i shant say its a nice movie. coz it is not. it got quite gory and i had to cover my eyes at the last parts.

i dont plan to catch the maid. but i think the aunties sitting infront of us did and were comparing with that one. coz at the end of the show heard them mentioning that perth is a low budget film..a remark which we found funny. i think they were expecting a glossy slick singaporean movie.

which it wasnt.it's grityy . and some people say it pays homage to 'taxi driver'

it shows the otherside of singapore, its underbelly, that the folks in stb wont show to the world. heck..its only showing in four cinemas islandwide with odd screeening times..makes me wonder if it was intended that way so that not so many people especially the ang moh types get to catch it coz they get cursed a lot in this show..

i liked it.

he enjoyed it. esp the reservist scene.

*the show has a lot of expletives. all the hokkien CBs....KNCB..and their variants. so it has a M18 rating. at the door, the ticket man took a lot time to scrutinise us..hahahahahah i am amused and slightly flattered of course.

* the lead character, played by limkaytong, is named harry lee. his ex-sup and fren is called angryboy lee. at one part of the show, the angryboy said something like

"harry, dont worry. i'll take care of you. we are a family. we take care of each other. you know who we are, we are the lee-s"

...people laughed at that part..
