hup hup (inhale) weeeeee (exhale)

when we got up the next morning, it was time for the hike up to the crater rim.

i actually couldnt sleep very well the first night. not used to the hard ground. so i was not well rested for the next part of the hike.

by then we were moving up to an altitude of about 2000 m above sea level. this part of the hike was beggining to feel more challenging largely due to the thin air. breathing became more laborious and mine was sounding something like "hup hup (inhaling) weeee (exhale)"

every 10-15 min we had to stop. in the earlier lower altitude part of the trek we got a hang of controlling our breathing as we trekked our way up, but thin air was something we were not used to and i began to feel like an unfit mountain goat, no puteri gunung rinjani.
