a trip on A hill

we went out for a date. its been sometime that we have done so, you know walking around unpurposefully. well, actually we did have a purpose. if i am to read the signs right, i suppose what happened in the past few weeks, seems to point to one thing; we should SETTLE DOWN.

so that day, we went out to shop/window shop for settled people's stuffs.

.......................................................................

stop 1:

style:nordic

very nice stuffs which of course we didnt think we were going to buy anyway because of the prices.

but it was a nice lil shop which serves as a reminder that there is more to scandinavian design than just...ehmmm ikea..

this shope is a collective of sorts. of scandinavian designed items.
the owner was very chatty. the gayest, as in very friendly, scandinavian we have ever met.

cool stuffs , but i was a bit shy of taking out my rather clumsy uncool-looking cammy to take pics here. but you would have already seen pics of his shop featured on the papers and a few mags by now.

.................................................

stop 2:

after we walked out of stop 1, the husband took a cig break...

and it was then we got picked up on the streets. we were sold! for a mere $25..

.................................................

stop 3:

i dunno why i stepped in here. i wonder why. it wasnt actually in our plan..but hey, maybe its divine intervention again. (like i have been getting a lot of that these past few weeks)

this is the most boring cot in the entire place..

really they have many more gorgeous gorgeous cots..but they were in the front part of the shop..this was at the back section, where i sneakily took a pic..the mural is nice though.

and these next ones...

we discussed about them. if we should get them in the future, you know, when we have kids..because,you know they are so retro..

oops wrong..they are vintage. vintage prams. i thought they were cool but the salesperson actually said they werent very practical..hahahah may not fit in your hdb lift. then on second thoughts, we felt they looked more like props in a scary dolls movie..

ahhh and this one..

one of the many many cute cute lil things ..

tralalalala..too bad we are not expecting any right now..

hmmm...

and the other interesting part of the shopping at this stop was actually the sales person..i think the sales people at AS hill must be a bit bored that saturday. at the nordic store we discussed the relations between stockholmites with the southernswedes and at this shop it was willingly shared with us the relations between texans and californians. very strange. but he was a very interesting GUY. yes, a malay pakcik. the sole sale person, specially picked by the millionaire expat owner to sell baby wares. but that pakcik has one interesting life story.

...........................................

we spent a long time at stop 1 and 3 chatting. and stop 2 was where we spent almost half an hour doing a market survey and getting $25 each for that. the other shops were closing or closed by the time we got out of stop 3..but maybe i'll go back if just to look for inspirations.

the other stop: found a place where they sell noguchi coffee table..repros..pirated..among many other pirated classics like the bertoias...lol..cheaper but not so cheap and not on the hill though.

hmmm...wld definitely get stares..if you come strolling with one of these....er those retro...i mean vintage french pram..caught my eye when i was in cph...its big and they had lotsa barang2...from quilts to jackets etcs for the babies....and from what I heard they would have been more popular here, if not for the size....cik dol kata they actually.....maintained the original dimension of the pram....meaning to say babies nowadays....generally bigger as they are.....wld outgrow the pram in no time at all....

and that cheesecake recipe....was a mix of new york & swirl recipes...both avail in my blog..hehe

easy squeezy- a maid lah. please select one:-
1) mom
2) mom-in-law
3) girl from corrupted, poor neighbouring country

NB.: Option 3 comes with a tiny, slavelike fee, but subject can be treated as such...abuses in whatever nature are allowed. a reminder though....don't let her keep a diary.

oh go for all your hiking suffs first before thinking of having baby. u cant carry a baby up the mountain, unless of course u r so fit. i saw one expat lady carrying her baby in a sling and hiking up the mountains in nepal. i think she is mad, but i think she is chill as well.
